Demas Saul
Demas Saul has been captivating audiences for generations, drawing inspiration from traditional Madang melodies and iconic groups Demas has built a catalogue that blends heritage with contemporary island rhythms.
Hailing from Madang and East New Britain Province, Demas Saul’s early exposure to music came from his mother who gifted Demas a ukulele at age 10. This sparked a life-long passion for music, starting with his involvement in bands like ‘Old Dog and Off Beats’, where he put out three albums including the popular ‘Gear Box Bagarap’.
Demas Saul’s solo career began in 1995 with the release of hit singles such as ‘Beautiful Madang’, ‘Meri Island’, and ‘Pasin Barata’. Demas Saul’s music is a true representation of PNG culture, characterised by storytelling and cultural themes, capturing a range of dialects to showcase our diversity and unity.
