Jointly funded by The Coca‑Cola Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the WADA Tajdid Water Project implemented in Iraq has significantly improved water access and quality while reducing water losses in Soran – a district in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq that has long been experiencing a water crisis.

Thanks to the initiative, the Soran Water Directorate has not only been able to carry out the first-ever water audit in Iraq and repair water infrastructure in 13 targeted areas but has also fostered community engagement and awareness on water-saving practices. As a result of the infrastructure repairs and other work, WADA Tajdid reduced physical water losses saving millions of liters of water per year.
