The Coca‑Cola Company global by 2035:

Aim to use 35% to 40% recycled material in primary packaging (plastic, glass and aluminum), including increasing recycled plastic use to 30% to 35%.

Help ensure the collection of 70% to 75% of the equivalent number of bottles and cans introduced into the market annually.

The company is focused on ensuring that its primary packaging is recyclable.

In this context, MCS officially launched the Plastic Collection Campaign in Mongolia to help drive a circular economy for our packaging because this helps to reduce waste and carbon emissions. We believe developing a circular economy—an economic system aimed at eliminating waste through the continual use of existing, valuable resources—is the most impactful way to address waste and climate issues created by packaging.

About TML Recycling Plant

The "TML" plastic bottle recycling plant was established and has been operating since 2021 under the Coca‑Cola Mongolia. The TML plant has the capacity to recycle 20 thousand tons of plastic every year while the annual consumption of plastic bottles in Mongolia is 18 thousand tons. Ever since TML’s inauguration, MCS Coca‑Cola has been partnering closely in plastic bottles community collection and public education initiatives, as well as in driving our recycled PET agenda in Mongolia.

Packaging weight reduction

The Coca‑Cola Company is constantly working to save on raw materials and energy used in packaging materials worldwide. Within the framework of the "Plastic Collection" campaign, the project on reducing the package weight has been implemented, reducing the use of plastic bottles disposed into the environment.
