14 July 2023 – Sydney/Auckland, AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND: Coca‑Cola has announced its FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ campaign under the theme of “Believing is Magic”. The campaign builds on the long-standing partnership between Coca‑Cola and FIFA and aims to uplift and refresh the shared experience of the FIFA World Cup™, creating excitement for football fans around the world.
The week-long southern spread has been created to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the iconic Coca‑Cola Contour bottle, a design that was patented in 1915 and is arguably one of the most widely recognised icons in the world.
Patrons can expect to sample cuisine that is slow cooked and succulent, infused with the distinctive Coca‑Cola flavour and delicately balanced to create the perfect combination of smoky and sweet.
Surly's American head chef, Brendhan Bennison, uses an imported Ole Hickory wood smoking 'pit' from Missouri, USA, to bring Sydneysiders a real taste of American BBQ.
Bennison says, "Coca‑Cola is a really fun ingredient to use because of its naturally sweet flavour which really shines through in a sauce. To mark the 100th Anniversary I’ve made a one-of-a-kind, thick, sweet homemade BBQ sauce which will add a punch of flavour to our pork and chicken recipes.”
Surly’s will be serving four Coca‑Cola themed dishes during both lunch and dinner, which include:
Sydneysiders can jump on the birthday bandwagon and help celebrate Coca- Cola’s 100th Anniversary by visiting Surly’s in Surry Hills to sample the menu from Tuesday, 17th November – Sunday, 22nd November 2015.
The official date of the 100th Anniversary of the Coca‑Cola Contour bottle is November 16, 2015.

Opened in April 2015, Surly’s is an American dive bar and restaurant introducing a very unique offering to Sydney. Located in a two-story Art deco building in Surry Hills, this rock and roll venue has live music, shuffleboards, 3 old school video games, and a vast selection of hand picked Americana memorabilia. Serving up simple American comfort food using a fire-box smoker imported all the way from Missouri, this is the only place in Sydney that serves a diverse selection of true Southern American BBQ. What defines the BBQ at Surly’s is that it is brings all of the southern regions distinct styles and flavours together of Texas, Memphis, Carolina and Kansas City into one. The beer selection is epic and strongly concentrated on backing 'the little guy', but also with a nod to some North American dive beers such as Coors & Blue Moon. Surly’s is a great place to host a party, private event or product launch. Our upstairs level has a stage and is equipped for live music and DJs with a capacity of 80 people.
