Coca‑Cola System Celebrates 32 Years with Made in Algeria Campaign

Algiers, Algeria – [22 July 2025] - The Coca‑Cola Company, together with its authorized bottler, Equatorial Coca‑Cola Bottling Company, proudly marks 32 years of local operations and economic impact in Algeria. To honor this milestone, the Coca‑Cola system is unveiling a new campaign titled ‘Made in Algeria’- a tribute to the thousands of Algerian men and women who bring Coca‑Cola to life every day.

The campaign celebrates the Coca‑Cola system’s commitment to local production, Algerian talent, and driving more sustainable development across the country. For over three decades, Coca‑Cola has been produced in Algeria by Algerians, using predominantly locally sourced materials and supporting thousands of jobs across its value chain.

“This campaign is a tribute to every Algerian who has been part of our journey,” said Wahib Beneissa, General Manager of Equatorial Coca‑Cola Bottling Company in Algeria. “Behind every Coca‑Cola beverage produced in Algeria is a vast network of people whose livelihoods are directly and indirectly supported by our system.”

A study published in 2024 by global consultancy Steward Redqueen, showed that the Coca‑Cola system supported over 21,000 jobs in 2023 across its value chain in the country in sectors like retail, agriculture, manufacturing, transport and services. This included 1,900 direct Coca‑Cola system jobs, plus more than 19,300 indirect jobs supported across the value chain, meaning the system collectively supported 10 additional jobs for every job it directly creates.

The Coca‑Cola system’s impact goes beyond job creation; it is deeply embedded in Algeria's economy. The study showed that local operations contributed USD 462 million in value-added economic activity across its value chain to the Algerian economy in 2023. Additionally, in the same year, the system purchased USD 217 million worth of goods and services from suppliers in Algeria, amounting to 64% of all goods and services used in Coca‑Cola’s operations in Algeria, strengthening domestic industries and supporting local suppliers.

The approach adopted by Steward Redqueen integrates client-provided operational data with trusted third-party economic sources and industry benchmarks. More than just measuring direct contributions, the analysis shows how the Coca‑Cola system in Algeria drives production, generates income, and supports employment across a spectrum of industries and geographies. The methodology follows the revenues stream of the System and the outlets in the economy to trace direct and indirect impact.

“As we mark this important milestone, we reaffirm our enduring commitment to Algeria’s long-term growth. The unique operating model of the Coca‑Cola system allows us to make a lasting impact in local communities,” said Beneissa. “We’ve participated in, and actively supported, the growth of Algeria for three decades. As we look to the future, one truth is clear: Algeria’s growth is our growth.”
