United in Action to Support the Canadian Red Cross and Wildfire Response Efforts in Manitoba and Saskatchewan

Through longstanding commitments with the Canadian Red Cross and contributions to local response teams, The Coca‑Cola Foundation, The Coca‑Cola Company and Coke Canada Bottling stand in solidarity with Canadian communities by providing support to those impacted by the wildfires in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
As one of the nation’s leading humanitarian organizations, the Canadian Red Cross has been working tirelessly to deliver emergency aid, including accommodations, transportation, supplies such as cots and blankets, comfort and care, to provide immediate relief and will support those impacted on their journey to recovery.
A SYSTEM OF SUPPORT FOR CANADIANS
To bolster response efforts, The Coca‑Cola Foundation contributed $200,000 USD, and The Coca‑Cola Company has contributed $40,000 USD to the Canadian Red Cross to assist communities impacted by the wildfires. In addition to contributing these funds, Coke Canada Bottling has provided thousands of cases of beverages, including Dasani bottled water, to aid emergency responders. By directing resources to both provinces, The Coca‑Cola Foundation and The Coca‑Cola Company aim to help affected families and individuals recover and rebuild.
“Our hearts are with the people impacted by the devastating wildfires,” said Laura Cutsey, VP of Marketing and Partnerships, at Coca‑Cola Canada. “We are in awe of the compassion and dedication the Canadian Red Cross brings to those in need and hope this contribution provides much-needed relief and comfort to evacuees as they find the strength to rebuild their lives.”
“As Canada’s Local Bottler, we are committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we operate and one of the ways we do that is by supporting our local partners when our communities are impacted by unexpected disaster,” says Kathy Murphy, Coke Canada Bottling’s Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications. “We’re very grateful to our Saskatchewan and Manitoba teams who step in to help those who continue to be affected.”
A LEGACY OF SUPPORT THROUGH PARTNERSHIP
The Coca‑Cola Foundation and the Coca‑Cola system regularly engage in local communities’ disaster relief efforts and with the Red Cross, providing financial contributions, product donations, employee volunteerism, and other resources to aid communities in times of crisis. In Canada, The Coca‑Cola Foundation is also a member of the Disaster Response Alliance (DRA), which helps the Canadian Red Cross maintain readiness with highly trained disaster teams, pre-positioned supplies, and emergency assistance to reduce tomorrow’s risks.
