Coca‑Cola Africa appoints Phillipine Mtikitiki to lead its South Africa Franchise

As Phillipine Mtikitiki takes the reins as Vice President of Coca‑Cola’s South Africa Franchise, she’s focused on building a thriving, resilient business in this important African market

A Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) professional with a wealth of experience in Operations, Marketing, Planning and Commercial Strategy, Phillipine Mtikitiki has been appointed Coca‑Cola Africa’s Vice President for its South Africa Franchise, with effect from 1 January 2021. She will be based in Johannesburg.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and managing the company’s business strategy across South Africa.

“I am excited to lead the South Africa Franchise at this pivotal time. This is a market where our high performing teams, drive for innovation and consumer-focused brands are supported by a strong customer base and robust growth opportunities,” says Phillipine.

Prior to her appointment, Phillipine was the Vice President and General Manager for the East and Central Africa regions where she was responsible for leading the development and execution of the business strategy across 12 countries, while working with Coca‑Cola’s bottling partners to focus on the company’s growth agenda.

Phillipine brings over 20 years of experience in the Coca‑Cola System.  She joined Coca‑Cola in 1998 as a graduate associate. Over 13 years, she worked across the business units and its bottling entities in South Africa in various functions and roles of increasing responsibility.

She has a strong record of creating highly engaged teams and is passionate about people development.  In particular, Phillipine advocates for the African girl-child at the grassroots level and is a champion for the development of African talent and acceleration of growth opportunities for women and youth.

She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Business School, a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Honours in Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. In addition, she is a member of Coca‑Cola Beverages South Africa’s board and is also a member of the Global Women Leadership Council for The Coca‑Cola Company.
