FIFA World Cup Viewing Terms and Conditions


1. Promoter:
 This Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is organized by Coca‑Cola Africa (Proprietary) Limited and Coca‑Cola Beverages South Africa (Proprietary) Limited (“Promoters”).

2. Eligibility:  This Competition is open only to permanent residents and citizens of South Africa who are 18 years old or above and in possession of a valid form of identification (valid Passport or valid Identity Document) except any minor, employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of the Promoters, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoters and/or immediate family members of any of the above persons, its advertising agencies, advisers, dealers, suppliers and bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca‑Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies.

The Promotion is only valid within South Africa.  Participants must be within South Africa at the time of entering the Competition, for the verification process and at the time of the prize being awarded should they be declared a winner (subject to the specific areas which are limited and which are listed in paragraph 7(a) below, for the Home Viewing Experience prize described in paragraph 6 (a)), failing which such person will be disqualified  and the draw of a replacement entry shall take place under the same terms and conditions as the first draw. 

3. Agreement to Terms and Conditions: By participating in the Competition, participants fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these terms and conditions and the decisions of the Promoters, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Competition. The Promoters reserve the right at any time, without notice, to amend, modify, or change these terms and conditions and the prize, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prize, or any aspect thereof, for any reason which the Promoters reasonably deem necessary.    

4. Promotion Period: The Competition commences on 23 November 2022 South African Time and ends at 23h59 South Africa Time on 10 December 2022 (the "Promotion Period"). 

5. How to Enter: To stand a chance to win a Prize (as described in paragraph 6 below), participants must do the following:

          Post a video or picture of themselves on Twitter or Instagram showing how they celebrate a goal and tag us using the following handles:  on Twitter tag us using: @CocaCola_ZA and use the hashtags #BelievingIsMagic and #GameTimeWithCoke; Instagram tag us using @CocaColaZA and use the hashtags BelievingIsMagic and #GameTimeWithCoke

6. The Prizes:

Participants who complete the requirement as per paragraph 5 stand a chance to win:

     a. 1 of 6 Home Viewing Experience valued at R107 000,00   There will be a total of 6 (six) winners. This home viewing experience consists of the winner selecting a soccer match from the fixtures listed below in paragraph 7 of these terms and conditions, which they would like to watch at their home with up to 8 friends and where the Promoters will provide on the day of the match, Coca‑Cola soft drinks (limited to 1 per person attending)  and meals that the winner will select from three menu options handed over by the agency of the Promoters on the day of the match. The winner cannot change their pre-selected fixture and the date; OR

     b. 1 of 10 Home Viewing Lite: This prize consists of 1 of 10 home viewing lite prize drops which consists of the following which each winner will receive:

          i. 1 Coca‑Cola branded gift box valued at R 32 600,00

          ii. 1 x personalized jersey (i.e., winner can choose a team jersey from any of the countries participating as listed in paragraph 7 below, and choose if they want to have their name printed on the back) for prize winner valued at R1 500,00

          iii. 1 x Coca‑Cola branded mini fridge valued at R 6 500,00

          iv. 1 Coca‑Cola branded Hisense sound bar (Hisense 2.1 Channel Sound Bar HS-218 valued at R 2 500,00

          v. 10 x R 200 Uber Eats vouchers valued at R 2 000,00

         vi. Coca‑Cola branded glassware (6 x glasses) valued at R 750

        vii. 24x330ml cans of Coke No Sugar valued at R200

Each prize as described in paragraph 6(a) and (b) is referred to as a “Prize” and are collectively referred to as “Prizes”.

The Prizes are non-transferable, may not be exchanged for cash or for any other item and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Promoters’ sole discretion. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute each Prize  for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. 

7. Winner selection and verification: A random draw will be conducted to draw potential winners by an independent panel of judges one week ahead of each activated fixture (as listed in paragraph 7 below).

     a) Home Viewing Experience prize is only limited to Gauteng (Johannesburg/Pretoria), Kwa-Zulu Natal (Durban) and Western Cape (Cape Town).  This means that the prize will be delivered to the winners only in these abovementioned areas; the Home Viewing Experience will only be activated in the abovementioned areas.

     b) For both Home Viewing Experience and Home Viewing Lite prizes as described in paragraph 6 above, the potential winners will be notified a week ahead of the fixture via Direct Message to provide their contact details.    

     c) Upon selection, potential winners of both Home Viewing Experience and Home Viewing Lite prizes must sign a verification letter to verify all their required details and requirements as set out in the letter.

     d) Once successfully verified, the potential winners will be declared official winners.

     e) Winners of the Home Viewing Experience must be available for a site inspection (date and time to be agreed by Promoter and winner, failing which the winner will immediately forfeit the prize) to prepare the winner’s home for the Home Viewing Experience.

Potential winners will be drawn from all eligible entries received. The potential winners will be notified on the day of each draw, as per table above, via DM on the profile that the potential winner used to enter into the Competition and will be subject to a verification process where they will be required to provide contact number, email address and physical address subject to the timelines that will be provided by the Promoters or the Promoters’ agencies. If verification is successful, the potential winner will be declared an official winner and a confirmation email will be sent. In addition, the winner will be required to sign and return to the Promoters, within 24 hours of the date notice is sent, an acknowledgement of prize and indemnity form ("Declaration") to claim their Prize and to fulfil any such other requirements as determined by the Promoters. If a potential winner fails the verification process for whatsoever reason, such person will be disqualified and shall not receive a Prize, and a replacement draw, and winner will take place.  The selection of the winner for the Prize is final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion.

8. If the Promoters or the Promoters’ agents are unable to reach a potential winner after attempting to contact the potential winner 3 times within a 24 (twenty-four) hour period from the date of first notification stipulated above or if a potential winner fails the verification process for whatsoever reason, or if a winner fails to sign and return the Declaration or provide any other requested information (when applicable) within the required time period, or if a Prize is returned as undeliverable or cannot accept a Prize, then such person will be disqualified and will forfeit the chance to win a Prize and a draw for a replacement entry and winner will take place.

9. Participants may enter the Competition subject to the following:

     a. The Promoters do not guarantee the availability of the participating products at the participating stores.

     b. The Twitter or Instagram profile used to enter into this Competition must be owned and registered to that participant. No person can use another person’s profile for entry into this Competition.

     c. In order to prevent fraud, a participant must not enter into the Competition using more than one social media profile.

     d. No automated entries will be allowed, and all entries must be made by a natural person manually – using the stipulated channel.

     e. If any entry was made in a manner which in the Promoters’ discretion provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such a participant will be disqualified from this Promotion.

     f. Participants may enter this Competition as many times as they like provided they complete the entry mechanics set out above each time. However, participants are only eligible to stand a chance to win 1 (one) prize under this Competition. 

10. Publicity and Data Privacy: The Promoters may require (for its own use or its affiliates’ use) the winners to be identified, photographed and published in printed media, social media or other media or platforms, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting their prize or after having received their prize. The winners will be given the opportunity to decline to the publication of their images and to participate in the Promoters’ marketing material in so far as it relates to the Competition.

The Promoters and their affiliates (including subsidiaries, bottlers, and joint ventures) may contact the participants via email and through social media platforms to deliver marketing communications regarding their products and promotional activities, subject to the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”).  Personal information collected from the participants will be processed in accordance with Coca‑Cola Africa (Proprietary) Limited (“Coca‑Cola Africa”) Privacy Policy accessible at www.coca-cola.co.za and subject to the provisions of POPIA.

11. General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Competition is impaired or affected in any way for any reason, including, but, not limited to, unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control, fraud, technical failures, regularly-scheduled maintenance, virus or other technical problem, the Promoters may, in their sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Competition to address the impairment, then resume the Competition in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these terms and conditions; or (b) cancel the Promotion (before entries are received); or (c) change the number or nature of the prize (provided that the Promoters will not change the conditions for participation or conditions for being awarded the prize as stated herein). The Promoters reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition or to be acting in violation of the terms and conditions of this Competition, or in a disruptive manner.  Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a violation of criminal and/or civil law, and should such an attempt be made, the Promoters reserve the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  The Promoters’ failure to enforce any provision of these terms and conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. 

12. Release and Limitations of Liability: Except where prohibited by law, by participating in the Competition, participants agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless the Promoters, The Coca‑Cola Company, bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca‑Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotional partners, prize partners, agents and agencies, advisers, suppliers and the officers, directors and employees of each of them (the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims or causes of action of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in the Promotion or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Competition; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, printers or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) errors in the administration of the Competition or the processing of registrations and entries; (e) late, lost, or undeliverable mail; or (f) failure to award any component of a prize due to Covid-19 restrictions or the occurrence of any similar public health emergency or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoters.  The Promoters shall not be liable for any punitive, consequential, loss or profit, or indirect damages. Ownership of and risk in, and benefit attaching to a prize awarded under this Competition will pass to the winner immediately upon delivery of the prize.  If the Competition has been discontinued for any reason, Promoters, in their sole discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any prize offered herein.  No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. 

13. The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administrated by, or associated with Twitter or Instagram. Participants voluntarily provide their information to the Promoters and not to Twitter or Instagram however the participants are required to take note of the following:

     a. As this Competition requires participants to comment/post anything in relation to the relevant Twitter or Instagram social platforms, participants’ comments/posts must be original and written by them.  For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “comment/post” includes but is not limited to, any written material or visual or audio material such as an image, a photograph, a sound or visual clip. Participants may not use someone else’s post or work as their post. Participants may not comment/post material that is derogatory or harmful to the Promoters or the social platforms.

     b. Participants may not misuse the social media platforms, or the Coca‑Cola® brand or Competition in any way. This includes posting content for commercial purposes or distributing spam or malicious code or using the site to collect the personal data or content of other users or direct visitors to other sites or pages.

     c. Posts must not contain any content that is normally prohibited on the relevant social platforms such as explicit or offensive content.

     d. The Promoters have the absolute discretion to decide if participants actions constitute any of the actions prohibited in terms of these terms and conditions and to end their participation in the competition immediately and take appropriate legal action. The Promoters may also immediately remove any posts that they reasonably believe constitute any prohibited content without notice to the participant.

     e. Participants must comply with the terms and conditions and privacy policies of the social media platforms.

     f. The Promoters are not responsible for the social media platforms. The Promoters cannot control how they operate, when or if they are available, or what content they carry. Even though the Promoters run the Competition on the site, the Promoters do not endorse the third party, its site, its products, or services or any content on the site. Participants use the site at their own risk. Participants must take all necessary measures to protect themselves and any minors, from risks, such as viruses and other destructive code. 

     g. Participants must obtain at their own expense all equipment and services that are necessary to gain access to the social media platforms to take part in this Competition.

     h. The Promoters can put in place such technical or other remedies it considers appropriate to prevent abuse, or to protect any sites or our systems or other users.

     i. If any participant does not comply with these terms and conditions, their posts can be deleted and they will not be allowed to access the site or take part in the Competition.

     j. By posting any content, experiences, images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, participants consent and give the Promoters a world-wide, royalty free, perpetual and non-exclusive license, to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a participant on a social media platform, for the purposes of promoting the products and services of the Promoters.

14. Governing Law This Competition (including prizes) shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
