Who they are
Over the past 5 years, the Mompreneurs® group has grown to be a Canada-wide ‘movement’ which has developed into:
- Multiple team members and chapter locations across the country
- A non-profit arm in partnership with the Federal Government of Canada and The Coca‑Cola Foundation
- A national Award Series and Conference, and a quarterly magazine.
As sole owner of the trademarked word ‘mompreneur’ in Canada, the organization now has a membership and online community of over 17,000 members and subscribers within Canada and the U.S, a social media community over 80,000 strong, and a team that extends through Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
They have been thrilled with the development of Mompreneurs® Momentum Enterprise of Canada (Momentum), a new not-for-profit organization that complements the Mompreneurs® network to further provide educational resources, content, and opportunities for current and future members.
Momentum is the first Canadian organization to take part in Coca‑Cola’s 5by20 program, a worldwide initiative dedicated to supporting the economic empowerment of 5 million women entrepreneurs across the globe by the year 2020. With the support of The Coca‑Cola Foundation, Momentum will be helping to provide educational support for economic empowerment to 10,000 Canadian women entrepreneurs by the end of 2016, with a goal to continue supporting women leading to the program's closing in 2020.
"With Mompreneurs® Momentum Enterprise of Canada we are so honoured to be working with Status of Women Canada and The Coca‑Cola Foundation to offer education-based learning and practical curriculum at a level that is attainable for all women in business, no matter the industry or their level of experience. It opens up a world of endless opportunities."
