Creating a World Without Waste

Our World Without Waste initiative is a global commitment to ensure Coca‑Cola is taking the right steps towards building a sustainable business and waste-free future. World Without Waste is a recognition of the world’s packaging waste problem and our company’s commitment to become a part of the solution. As a global company operating in more than 200 markets, we established three fundamental goals:

Make our packaging 100% recyclable globally by 2025

In Canada, our packaging is 95% recyclable – and we’re committed to making it 100% by 2025!

Use 50% recycled materials in our packaging by 2030

We are working closely with the beverage industry, our customers and governments to increase collection and recycling rates.

Help collect and recycle a bottle or can for each one we sell by 2030.

In Canada, 77% of beverage containers are collected for recycling

We’ve made big strides — but we can’t do this alone.

We’re working with local and global partners to find new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and make a better planet for everyone.

“We want to be part of the solution”

A World Without Waste isn’t easy and involves many moving parts. Among them, companies have to do their part by making sure their packaging is recyclable. People have to do their part by recycling. And we all have to do whatever we can, no matter how big or small, to make sure packaging doesn’t end up where it doesn’t belong. Our CEO, James Quincey, explains how our World Without Waste vision came to be, why it’s important and the steps we’re taking to make this a reality.
