Making the biggest difference this Christmas through the Coca‑Cola Truck tour
Coca‑Cola’s magical truck tour is drawing to a close for 2021, after bringing real magic to the UK over the past couple of weeks. It’s been a lot of fun, we’ve met tens of thousands of amazing fans all over the country, and we’ve also had the opportunity to make a genuine difference to people who need it most during the campaign. Read on to find out more.
Coca‑Cola has become synonymous with Christmas, from the introduction of the Coca‑Cola Santa Claus in 1931, to our much beloved Christmas truck festooned with Christmas lights, which tours the world and brings optimism and positivity (and Coca‑Cola!) during the festive season.
The Coca‑Cola truck is far more than just an amazing sight to behold, however, with real meaning behind the campaign. Our purpose at Coca‑Cola is to refresh the world and make a difference. We craft the brands and choice of drinks that people love, and since the pandemic began, we pledged to support communities and organisations around the globe.
We believe that Christmas is at its most magical when shared, and some of life’s most beautiful moments are also the simplest, such as a festive meal. An example of this can be seen on special Coca‑Cola packs, with our ‘Win a meal, give a meal’ FareShare Partnership promotion across Coca‑Cola Original Taste and Coca‑Cola Zero Sugar providing the chance to win food-related vouchers while donating meals to the homeless charity FareShare.
Over the month, while the Cola-Cola truck toured the country, festive-themed sharing packs of Coca‑Cola Original Taste and Coca‑Cola Zero Sugar have been produced, with QR codes on the pack that shoppers can scan for the chance to win e-vouchers accepted by supermarkets, food aggregators, restaurant chains and more.
For every entry, Coca‑Cola has been donating a meal to its long-term charity partner, FareShare, a charity set up to fight hunger and food waste by redistributing surplus food to frontline charities. As part of the promotion, we’ll be donating up to 60,000 meals to the people who need it most this Christmas.
At a time when environmental issues are also rightly high on the agenda, you’ll also be happy to know that our truck tour is completely carbon neutral, giving tens of thousands of people the chance to see and photograph a true Christmas icon, without impacting the environment. What’s more, all our bottles and cans are 100% recyclable and have been for many years – including the lids and labels.
We’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who came to join us on the 2021 Coca‑Cola Truck tour, and for making a difference for FareShare and the people the charity supports.
We wish you all a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you again next year.
