CELEBRATING A HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP: HOW COCA COLA IS SUPPORTING THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES BERLIN 2023

The Special Olympics World Games 2023 kicks off this month, with Berlin hosting the games between 17th and 25th June. Coca‑Cola is once again a proud sponsor of the world’s largest inclusive sporting event.

As a founding partner of the Special Olympics World Games, Coca‑Cola has been a proud global sponsor since 1968, and we’re delighted to support them once again in Berlin for this year’s event.

The Special Olympics World Games is a truly international spectacle, with more than 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities participating in the games, representing over 170 different nations. The Games are spread over eight days, taking place at 13 different venues, with more than 300,000 spectators watching the athletes compete in multiple sporting categories.

Coca‑Cola champions the vision of an inclusive society through the power of sport, believing in the transformative impact of the Special Olympics World Games on participants' lives. By supporting the event, Coca‑Cola embraces the desire to break down barriers, bring communities together and give more people the chance to thrive.

As the organisers explain: “The Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. We are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place – one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.”

No other event in the world has the social and emotional impact of the Special Olympics World Games. For the athletes and their families, the experience opens doors to unimagined possibilities. The event is just as exciting for everybody involved, however. For volunteers, coaches, and other supporters from all parts of the world, the Games inspire hope and belief in a brighter future of global acceptance, understanding and unity.

We genuinely can’t wait for the action to kick off, and we wish each one of the incredible 7,000 plus athletes all the best. Good luck everyone, we’re proud of you, and can’t wait to see you in action!
